There’s no restraining bolt on this little droid!
This is it! The last addition to the collection for the year. Taito gets the final word with this desktop R2-D2 humidifier.
Winter static is always an issue and accidental discharges around your laptop or computer should always be of concern. Like the Yoda Moe we reported 2 days ago, this little R2 unit is another credit toward Japanese innovation and love of the Saga.

As a New Years Eve treat, this article is a 2-for-1! You see, R2 is still available for eBay and I’ve chased down the best price for you. Here’s the auction text:

A Half Price Mug Has Twice The Value!
A little of post-Christmas shopping online has turned up some great deals, even on items we hadn’t found before!
Today’s super saver is an excellent choice for Star Wars fans, whether they are “collectors” or not. It’s an ‘oversized’ mug featuring Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader squaring off for their lightsaber duel on the second Death Star.

After my daughter Kay brought me an undocumented, licensed t-shirt that she and her boyfriend Mike had found at K-Mart, I decided to go digging around at the K-Mart website to see what other goodies might be lurking. In the past Galerie has made some nice character shaped mugs, so they’re building a reputation for affordable quality. Add K-Mart saving to the equasion and you’ve got a win/win! This oversized Galerie mug is clearancing out for $4.99 – about half of it’s original price.

Master Yoda Will Keep You Company While You Are Hard At Work!
Star Wars licensees who cover multiple nations usually don’t change their products much beyond the packaging language. To get a true flavor for the unique collectors often search out merchandise which is not marketed internationally. Japan is one of the best examples of innovation when it comes to Star Wars. We’ve seen Star Wars laser pointers, mosquito coil holders, soy bottles, coin purses, and now our first Moe (pronounced Moh-eh).
|
JBox (also sold under JList) is a seller of Japanese mania products. From time to time unique Star Wars merchandise sneaks in and most of the time is sold through without being re-stocked. Today we have come across the new Yoda USB accessory. Here’s what Jbox has to say about it:
“Here’s another wacky USB decorative device that will catch the eye of any innocent bystander wandering by your desk. These Star Wars computer devices are designed to keep you company while you work away at your computer. This Moe version of the Jedi master Yoda has a glowing lightsaber as will his cheeks all glow completely at random. Measures 6 cm (approximately 2 inches) and can be clipped on top of your monitor. Completely powered by your USB. The Force is strong with this one indeed. Requires minimum Windows XP service pack 2, USB 2.0 port and CD-ROM drive for installation”
At the time of discovery there was less than five left in stock. If the force is calling you to investigate further for that Yoda fan who seems to have everything (but not this) then —

Get This Exclusive Statue For FREE
It’s an unwritten rule that we don’t re-post news from other sites here, but this one is too good to be true, and we’ve given it a couple of days so they could have the scoop.
At noon on Christmas day RebelScum.com posted a link to get this Episode II clone trooper for free. It was formerly only available to Premiere Guild Members as a gift, and unobtainable to rest of us! We suspected that there was a catch such as requiring a minimum qualifying purchase, etc., so we gave it a day and then just couldn’t take it anymore and had to try the link for ourselves. Sure enough, for $10.01 postage, we got the classic mini-bust for FREE.

From the Gentle Giant website:
“Episode II Blue Clone Trooper Lieutenant Classics Bust – 2008 PGM Gift
Price: US $0.00
Item #: 10461 – In Stock
Limited Edition of 3000
Stands 5 inches tall
Clone Troopers are identical in form, physical prowess, stamina and mental capacity, yet they still maintained a spark of independent and creative thinking, making them far better suited than droids to handle unexpected turns of warfare.
Commissioned the late Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, a decade previous to their introduction on the battlefield; the original source of genetic material was an extremely skilled bounty hunter named Jango Fett. Growth acceleration was essential to the production of clones; in a decade’s time, the clones were constantly trained in fighting techniques, vehicular skills and battlefield tactics.
Clone troopers were fully encased in hard white armor, their identical faces concealed behind a t-shaped visor. In the first units, color-coded flashes on the armor denoted rank: green trooper sergeants, blue lieutenants, red captains, and yellow commanders. The clones designated for command duty were specifically trained in that capacity. By the end of the war, color-designation came to signify not rank, but individual units, who often became more customized with mission specific gear and armor modifications.
Gentle Giant’s 2008 Premier Guild Gift is the Episode II Blue Clone Trooper Lieutenant Classics Bust. The figure stands approximately 5 inches tall.”
We know that this story will be read over and over in future years and people will wish they were reading this now. The offer ends December 31st *or* when the last of the Clone Trooper Episode II Classic Mini-Busts are gone. We checked again before posting this article and there were some left. For ten bucks, GO GET ONE!
